Twelve Theorem of Yoga Meditation
Look Ma, no cavities!
Choose a special place to practice, which can help you get a sense of tranquility and go into the state of yoga meditation easily. Choose a fixed time, early in the morning or evening is O.K. By the same time and place, the spirit can be relaxed and calmed down quickly.
Sit down and let your back, your neck and your head in an identical line, facing north or east.
Breathe regularly: Breathe deeply for 5 minutes first, and then breathe steadily. Establish a rhythmic breathing: Inhale for 3 seconds and exhale for another 3 seconds and so on, over and over again. Never mind it if your consciousness starts to wandering, and don't try to force yourself to settle down. After being quiet, focus your attention on a fixed position, such as position of your glabellas or heart. Before the arrival of a pure state of meditation, you should not force to enter it and keep the Free State. After a period of practice, the wandering state would disappear and you would enter the Pure Samadhi (the highest state of consciousness).
Before entering the formal meditation section, you also need to pay attention to the following points: practicing under a comfortable and relaxed posture, if possible, adopting the lotus sitting posture. However, if you can't, please choose an easy sitting posture to practice. Correct and steady sitting posture is the key to successful meditation, for unsteady posture will make thought and consciousness unstable.
You should avoid eating before meditation, which will affect your concentration. Try once a day at the beginning, and then increase to twice.
The time of meditation should be increased slowly from five minutes to twenty minutes or even longer, but do not force yourself to sit quietly for too long.
If you feel uncomfortable are practicing using a meditation several times, then you can give up this method and choose another method that is more appropriate to you.
No need to rush, do not expect to achieve the desired results within a very short period of time.
