Inside Out Part II: Inside (December 2006)
"Inside" is the more introverted successor of "Out" and centers around me singing and playing acoustic guitar. It is (so far) the most popular release of Cotisuelto Smrz.
The thematical focus on this album is on love and/or the resulting pity. While I wrote "Rainbow Princess" and "Everything I'd ask to have" in pure bliss I was totally devastated when I wrote "Left".
"Simon et Maria" was originally a biblical story until I realized that it was a perfectly fitting allegory for a relationship of a friend of mine - and even the names matched! Sometimes I'm a genius without noticing it.
One of the most popular songs off the album is the instrumental "Why isn't John Dorian Chief Resident?" because people say it was the most grown-up and independent song on the record. Gibberish! The only reason is the title! I know it!
"I'm sorry" is different to the other songs because I wrote the lyrics over a year before I started recording. I then had a melody in the back of my head but I wasn't able to get it out. I needed to learn to play the guitar a little to do so, yet I wasn't good enough to come up with a nice solo. How practical that my buddy from destophobia, Mr. Z, was recording his own Metal-solo-project next door, so he could jam this absolutely beautiful guitar part over my song. Zank you!
