The Factions story is only loosely connected to that of the earlier Prophecies campaign. The primary link is with the monk Mhenlo, who is revealed to have spent his youth in the Factions-specific fictional continent of Cantha. Players who add Factions to their account can bring their role-playing characters from other campaigns by accompanying Mhenlo; characters that begin in Factions meet Mhenlo later in the plot. Like Prophecies, Factions begins with a tutorial section, called the Shing Jea Island, with easy quests and non-threatening monsters. The Factions tutorial areas are not separated from the rest of the continent like in Prophecies, but are instead accessible at all times like any other outpost. In the tutorial, Canthan characters are introduced to one of the main characters of the Factions story, the ritualist Master Togo. Togo is a half-brother to the emperor of Cantha, and the head of the Shing Jea Monastery where new Factions characters receive their preliminary training. It is revealed that Togo was a former mentor of Mhenlo. The Factions tutorial quests are directed towards specific tactical and strategic gameplay features such as kiting, snaring, and countering melee fighters. The initial tutorial missions also introduce new players to a plague spreading over Cantha. In attempting to find its source, the players discover the mark of an ancient evil from Cantha's history, the disgraced imperial bodyguard Shiro Tagachi. Two hundred years before the events of the story, Shiro murdered the emperor he was sworn to protect, and was himself promptly slain for his evil act. Shiro's death wail triggered a calamitous event, the Jade Wind, that swept across the continent of Cantha, turning the sea into solid jade and the Echovald Forest in southern Cantha to stone. (This back story was featured in a full-motion cinematic trailer for Factions. [1]) Togo recognizes the mark of Shiro and rushes to inform the emperor; the player characters, under his direction, head to the seat of the Canthan empire, the sprawling Kaineng Center. In the mainland, Factions characters are united with characters from other campaigns when they join forces to eject Shiro's army of the afflicted from Vizunah Square. At the end, they learn more about the history of Shiro. When he was slain for his murder, he became an envoy of Grenth, the god of death, and was given the task of shepherding the newly dead to the underworld. However, Shiro was not content with this fate, and wished to become mortal again, which he hoped to accomplish by slaying the emperor to complete an arcane ritual. To accomplish this, Shiro uses his envoy powers to spread the affliction, and uses the souls of the dead as soldiers in his army. The other envoys are not happy with Shiro's actions and decide to help the players to put an end to him. The first step in the envoys' plan is for the players to become closer to the stars to gain the ability to hurt Shiro in his envoy form. wow gold Subsequently, they pay a visit to the spirit of the former assassin Vizu, who was instrumental in defeating Shiro previously. Once you enter Majesty's Rest, cast mending and walk NW towards the island [ignore the reed stalkers and fog nightmares]. Now you have two choices; 1) fight all around the island to kill all the ghouls, zombies and whatnot. [as previously said, they drop lots of dust and bones, and this will prolong the amount of times you can rezone before getting neared drops warning] or 2) Go straight for Rotscale & friends. Once you have the area cleared, go towards the bridge that leads to Rotscale's island [near statue of balthazar]. cross the bridge and cast shield of judgement on yourself straight away. now run to the center of the island and let all the bone dragons hit you. if done properly they should all die at this point. if they don't; run back towards the bridge, wait for SoJ to recharge and cast it, again go to the center of the island and wait for the dragons to die. Your inventory should be mostly empty to start save 1 superior id kit 1 superior salvage kit and 10 standard salvage kits. Why so much. Well you need the id kits to id blue, purple and gold items and a superior salvage kit to salvage those items. The 10 remaining salvage kits are for everything else. Having all of that means spending around 3-4k, but you will be getting materials and potentially higher value items while out farming. This means that you can end up with lots of sellable materials from farming and thus can get the additional gold out of them from other players or trader NPCs. Although this method can take longer it does mean having 2 sources of income for farmers who prefer this method. [edit] Method 3: (Selective Farming) This method is usually used by seasoned players or new players who want just one type of drop. This method is usually used for getting green items or lots of specific items or materials. Many selective farmers will solo if they think it will prove more successful. With this method you will still want superior salvage and identification(ID) kits, but the amount is completely up to you. This type of farmer also tends to frequent the higher level areas, because the drops are of higher quality (or so it is believed). Some of the areas that this type of farmer will visit require the player to rezone to continue farming. Two new professions (assassin and ritualist) will be included along with this faction. Guild Wars Factions is to be released as of April 28th, 2006. Your team will be able to acquire many new challenges as you travel through Canthon, the new Guild War Faction. Guild War Faction characters can choose from up to 300 new skills to acquire, 90 of which are Elite skills. The Guild Wars Factions Chapter also contains new weapons, new creatures, and new PvP and GvP features. You need not have participated in the Guild Wars Prophecy campaign in order to play in the Guild Wars Factions campaign. However, you will benefit if you combine the features of both together. Experience new challenges as you journey through the new Guild War Faction. The Guild War Prophecy Campaign and the Guild War Faction (Guild War story lines) intersect at the Lion's Arch. New and old Guild War campaign challenges await you. You can start from the original Guild War campaign in Ascalon and you can move right on to the second Guild War campaign which starts in Cantha. Instantly your map should be showing many Grasping Darkness's. Try to attract a few at a time so you can handle them, and slowly pick them off. This build won't be able to handle all the Darknesses at the same time, so try to do your best to entice 3 or 4 away from the pack at a time. Once lured, from the pack, you can use your Dolyak with a sword or axe at this point, or when Bonetti's has fully charged. Vengeful was Khanhei can then be used to wipe out your enemy. Do this repeatedly and you should be able to clear out the enemies fairly quickly. The faster you take out the Darknesses the better so they aren't able to drain all your energy. Bonetti's is extremely effective here. Each time you do this you should be able to loot at least 10,000 in gold each run.
